In Litibu Ecovillage we are working to create a life way that goes beyond sustainability by actively contributing to the health and vitality of the planet. We aim to be about changing the world and ourselves for the better. With a strong focus on collaboration and participation, we seek to honor traditional wisdom; welcome positive innovation and learn from nature. When any of our values become threadbare, we look for ways of reweaving our practices.

Systems being emphasized:
SOLAR: Full electricity source is from solar panels on our roofs and backup batteries.
WATER: Collection of rainwater into cisterns provides basic needs. We are creating additional capacity. We have one black water system that has functioned successfully for thirty years. Each Casa is upgrading gray water systems to support casa gardens.
COMPOSTING: We are expanding composting sites to revitalize our homes and food forest.
FOOD: With the first 3 layers of a permaculture food forest in place, we are concentrating on soil renewal.
CONNECTIVITIY: Fiberoptic cable is creating more reliable internet.
RECYCLE-REPAIR-UPCYCLE: We recycle, repair, reuse and practice patterns of cooperative living.
