IT BEGAN WITH A DREAM…

OUR HISTORY:
In 1990 eighteen social pioneers began the planning stages of building an intentional community on Playa Litibu in Nayarit, Mexico, two kilometers from the village of Higuera Blanca.

The founding members and their families had been participating in global village development projects around the world for decades when they decided it was time to put down roots. The lush, dense forest on the “beach of dreams”.

They built eight eco-friendly casas, bound together by a common vision to live eco-friendly. The electricity is produced by solar panels with the surplus going to the grid. Rainwater is collected off roofs to store in cisterns, with a common blackwater system.  Grey water and composting support casa gardens, common ground and help to revitalize the food forest.

The goal/vision is to create an environment that would become increasingly self-sufficient.

OUR FUTURE:

We understand the urgency of demonstrating radical actions by caring for the earth and are responding by living gently and consciously in everything we do. We are steadfast in protecting and expanding our goals and purpose.

WE INVITE YOU TO COME DREAM WITH US TO REMAKE
